Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of VisiBooks ("the Service"), operated by VisiBooks ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

VisiBooks is a web-based general ledger application. You can create charts of accounts, record journal entries, connect bank feeds, and generate financial reports.

2. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

3. Your Data

You own your data. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over the accounting data you enter into the Service. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process your data solely to provide the Service.

You may export your data at any time. If you delete your account, we will remove your data within 30 days.

4. Bank Feed Connections

Bank feed connections are provided through Stripe Financial Connections. By connecting a bank account, you authorize Stripe and VisiBooks to access transaction data from your linked accounts. This data is used solely to import transactions into your ledger. You may disconnect a bank feed at any time.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Reverse engineer or decompile the Service

6. Paid Plans

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

7. Disclaimer

VisiBooks is an accounting tool, not a licensed accounting firm. The Service does not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of your records and for consulting with qualified professionals as needed.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VisiBooks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice when possible.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.
