VisiBooks ("we", "us", "our") operates the VisiBooks application at app.visibooks.app and the marketing site at visibooks.app. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign up we collect your email address and, if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details processed through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
Accounting data
You may create a chart of accounts, journal entries, and other financial records. This data is stored in our database and is accessible only to you and any team members you explicitly invite.
Bank feed data
If you connect a bank account via Stripe Financial Connections, we receive transaction data (dates, amounts, descriptions, and account identifiers) from your linked accounts. This data is used solely to import transactions into your ledger and is stored in the United States.
Usage data
We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) to operate and improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the VisiBooks service
- To import and reconcile bank transactions against your ledger
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing receipts)
- To detect and prevent abuse
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing and bank account connections
- AWS SES — transactional email delivery
- Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery
We do not share bank feed data or accounting data with any third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the service.
4. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored in the United States. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Rights
You may export, correct, or delete your data at any time from your account settings. To request full account deletion, email hello@visibooks.app.
7. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a preference cookie for theme settings. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the site.
